the build

Built for chewing up trails around the world, this full custom frameset was commissioned by Ross Chapman of Skysoclear. Ross wanted a memorable frame that could travel with him, wherever his work should take him.

Columbus Zona tubing gives a smooth, durable ride. While thru-axle drops and flat-mount brakes mean superior performance and stopping power. Thanks to S&S couplers, it packs away for easy transport.

the process

Ross wanted a frame that was versatile and bold, while still respecting a more classic frame shape. We built him a rugged frame with a horizontal toptube and big diameter tubes. Wide spacing and couplers were used so that he could go just about anywhere.

When it came to paint, Ross wanted something that was outspoken, yet refined. We pitched two paint designs and then developed the winner collaboratively. The final design draws on colors from Ross’ youth, while the color transitions reference the bikes ability to be broken in two.
